I have a knack for languages, but I have so far restricted myself to those spoken (or spoken once upon a time) in the Western world. I would like to learn to speak and read Japanese. To this end, I will purchase tools to help me understand the grammar and structure of the language, and to add words to my vocabulary. I will complete exercises, practice with both the written and spoken word, and translate texts to and from Japanese. If necessary, I will take a formal class, rather than rely on teaching myself. ........................................... I purchased "My Japanese Coach" for the Nintendo DS. This is the first resource I've acquired in pursuit of this goal, and I have high hopes that if I use it regularly it will help.
